Kippered herring are small fish that are typically salted and sometimes smoked.

In some countries, kippered herring are not only a main meal for lunch or dinner but also common for breakfast.  Besides being tasty, unique and even healthy, they also provide a reasonably inexpensive, high-protein meal.

A yummy breakfast!

A wonderful breakfast

Herring breakfast

1 kippered herring, fileted and chopped
12 eggs
3 tablespoons butter
Quarter raw tomatoes
Salt and pepper to taste

Place butter and kippered herring in a frying pan, stirring occasionally.
Beat eggs and scramble with the herring
Cook both for about 1 minute

It’s healthy, too!
